We've had plans to take the boys camping for a few months now. Jason took spring break week off, and we've been looking forward to it!

First things first, get the tent set up while you still have daylight. The boys "helped" as much as possible.
This was our first time using our lantern, so there was a bit of "setting up" to do.
We stopped at a chicken place on the way in to get dinner for the first night: chicken, mashed potatoes and coleslaw.
The boys were excited to check out the park on the campgrounds.
Carsen wanted to show us how he jumps out of the swing at school.
When he was done, I asked him, "Is that how you do it at school?" His response was, "Ya, but not usually THAT high!!" Braeden thought he'd give it a shot.
That was LITERALLY how far off the ground he jumped! And littlest brother can't be left out!
After dinner and the park, we headed back to get the fire going. Definitely the highlight of the night. We decided to do our smores the first night, which later turned out to be a good decision.

After smores, we played some baseball and then it was dark enough that it was time to just sit by the fire and enjoy it. Gaven went to bed and the boys and I read a little. After the boys went to bed, I was able to just sit by the fire and read. It was a little bit of heaven on earth!

It's good to see that Daddy needed help setting up the tent, especially his littlest helper! Those s'mores look really great and I am glad Gav gave the "thumbs up" to them. All those boys look so cute and it looks like so much fun!
Oh, it looks like fun! I think the look on Jason's face roasting marshmallows is priceless. Camping is a lot harder when you're the parent, not the kid! :)
