The following pictures are all from yesterday when Grandma took the boys to Build-A-Bear Workshop. They've been looking forward to going for a couple months. For those of you who have never been there, you'll see in the pictures that there are quite a few steps to "making a bear." We asked Braeden, "If you make a dog, is it called Build-A-Dog?" He thought that was pretty funny.
One of the first steps is picking out your "bear." The second thing you do is pick out a heart. The lady told the boys to rub it in their hands to make it warm and then to give it a kiss. Braeden was a little embarrassed and had to hide around the corner to kiss his. If you want a sound, you pick that out and they put it in when they stuff the bear. Finally, she stitches it for you.
After the heart, stuffing and sound, you take them to the fluffing station. The yellow lamps blow down air and then you use the little brushes to fluff.
Last, if you wish, you pick out an outfit. Carsen chose a soccer outfit. It was very important for his monkey to have "little pants" (that's what Carsen calls shorts). Braeden chose a fishing outfit. The bears even come with birth certificates and a little house. Carsen picked out Skunky Monkey Mann for his monkey's name, and Braeden chose Scruffie James Mann for his dog.
After lunch, on the way home, the boys konked out. It's a big day building a new friend. It took a lot of love, and obviously a lot of energy, too.
