Look Who's FOUR!!

Braeden couldn't wait to turn 4, so when the day finally came, he proudly held up his fingers to tell me how old he was. One of the perks of living away from family is that you get numerous packages in the mail throughout the week, which makes your birthday last a lot longer. On Saturday before his birthday, he got a package from Grandma Debbie and Papa Train along with one from Aunt Michelle and Uncle Chris and the kids. So we had fun opening then. Monday was his actual birthday, so he opened presents from Mom and Dad on Monday. Then Daddy returned from an interview in Portland on Thursday with more presents from Nanu Dena and Papa Kim. Finally, we celebrated with his friends on Saturday and he had a few more presents. Needless to say, we're birthday'd out.

A birthday complete with plenty of Thomas!

Alright, so Mom had grand plans for the cake, and then this is what he got. I decided last minute that I didn't have the time or energy to to decorate the cake like Thomas, so why not just put Thomas on the top. Braeden LOVED his cake, which just made me laugh. The tree, railroad sign and Sir Topham Hat would not stand up and the railroad was crooked, but what 4 year old really cares, right!

Braeden, Carsen and all their blonde little friends. My mom voiced concern that Braeden didn't have enough little "boy" friends. I laughed and told her that a few of his boyfriends weren't able to make it.

That is really an awesome cake - sometimes when you simplify it actually ends up better. And I can't imagine you felt like doing a big cake when you're so close to your due date! Congrats to Braeden! Four is such a fun age!!!!
