Jason took the two older boys camping on Friday night with some friends from church. They had fun shopping for their food and each picking out a new sleeping bag. Here are the tough guys ready to head out.

Jason found it quite
humorous how much "gear" it took to take a 4 and 2 year old camping for one evening.

The boys tried to help, but there wasn't much success. Here they are trying to work together. We all know how that goes.

Apparently, this year they were on the beach side of Galveston State Park... which if you've ever been camping in the Pacific Northwest, doesn't resemble camping in the least bit. We call this "camping like Papa" or car camping. We often make fun of my dad and his 3 childhood buddies who have an annual "camping" trip... with all the comforts you can think of.

Just
messin' around while there's still some daylight.

Here they are sitting around the campfire. You can't see the fire, but it's there. Don't you love
Braeden's hat? He needs some serious lessons in hat wearing.

Jason told me that this picture was completely staged. They didn't help out with hardly anything around the camp. They were excited for their sausage and eggs breakfast. It was too windy to cook the toast. But, the best part was...

The hot chocolate!!!!!

One last picture of the three amigos by the beach. It was nice weather, but very windy. The first of MANY camping trips with the boys and Dad.

Wait until they go for a week in the real wilderness.
I love the matching outfits, and Dad even getting in on the army green action! Woo Hoo Old Navy socks put to good matching use!!! (and here I thought all those weird colors were only good for the $0.24 they cost! I forgot you had BOYS, and boys love camo!)
I should send my 4yr old to your house! He's been asking to go camping at least once a week since last summer! I told him it has to get warmer at night!
